Management / Business
Diploma of Management (pdf 420kb)
This qualification is ideal for people who manage others in any industrial or organisational setting.You should have considerable experience in your respective industry or vocational area. The qualification will provide you with a sound theoretical knowledge base and the managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate your own work or the work of a team.
Pathways- You may enter this course with a Certificate IV in Frontline Management or Certificate Iv In Business or with vocational experience..
After completing this qualification you may progress to an Advanced Diploma in Management with an RTO or a Professional Management Program at one of the Universities.
RPL-Experienced Managers may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning.
Class time: One Tues Evening per month 6-9pm, light tea provided and online work

This qualification equips students to develop and use their business skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. You will be able to problem solve, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources and develop leadership skills.
Job Roles may include: Administrator, Project Officer.
Pathway- You may enter this course with a Cert III in Business, or with significant experience in a business setting. On completion you may progress to a Diploma of Management.
RPL-Experienced Workers may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning.

Youth Work / Community Work
Diploma of Youth Work (pdf 240kb)
This qualification covers people with responsibility for the development and the outcomes of programs and services for young people managed through a range of agencies and designed to meet the social, behavioural, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs of young people. This work may be undertaken through employment in community, government and welfare agencies.

Pathways Prerequisites- Applicants should hold a Cert IV in Youth Work or equivalent qualification or experience. On completion you may wish to progress to the Degree in Social Science (Youth Work) at Tabor Adelaide.

Certificate IV Youth Work (pdf 273kb)
Youth Workers with this qulification develop and facilitate programs for young people through a range of community based programs designed to address the social, behavioural, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs of young people.
This work may be undertaken through employment in community, government and welfare agencies and workers will be responsible for implementing policies and guidelines of the employing organisation
Youth Workers are largely self directed under the indirect supervision of a manager.

Pathways- There are no specific entry requirements, but obviously you need to like working with young people! This qualification leads directly into employment, but you may choose to progress on to a Diploma of Youth Work or the Degree in Social Science (Youth Work). Both of these qualifications are availalbe at Tabor Adelaide.

Certificate III Community Services Work (pdf 252kb)
This certificate applies to community work delivered through a broad range of services which provide support to individuals and groups.
This level is appropriate for support workers, case workers and client contact officers and generally, these positions:
Have direct contact with clients
Identify presenting needs
Refer to appropriate services and support.
At this level support workers and case workers may provide day-to-day support in community settings and/or provide assistance with entitlements and benefits under the broad direction of others.
Emotional and practical support may be provided face to face or over the telephone to assist the client and enable an accurate referral to be achieved.

Training & Assessment

One Tuesday evening per month 6-9pm and online
Certificate IV in TAA (TAE40110) (pdf 581kb)
This qualification equips people delivering training and assessment in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, in their particular field of expertise. It is also a useful qualification for Senior Secondary Teachers, Youth Workers, Pastors and anyone involved with Adult Education.
Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration.
This qualification is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.
Job roles
Job roles associated with this qualification relate to the delivery of training and assessment of competence within the VET sector. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include:
- enterprise trainer
- enterprise assessor
- registered training organisation (RTO) trainer
- RTO assessor
- training adviser or training needs analyst
- vocational education teacher.
At Tabor we deliver this certificate in an integrated fashion and provide student with an online learning environment as well as face to face classes. Paper based external studies are also available if that is your preferred way of learning.
Our program is suitable for trainers from a wide variety of industry backgrounds as well a those working in Christian studies or similar. Our facilitators have wide experience within numerous industry settings and have a good understanding of both the world of industry and Christian education.
The program generally takes a year to complete on a part time basis, but you may progress faster based on a number of factors.
Experienced teachers and trainers may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning for some units.
Pathways- there are no entry requirments but you need to have the opportunity to practice your training skills. You may progress onto a Diploma of TAA.
Cost- $1495 (includes any RPL the student may gain)
